Tim is originally from Bozeman, Montana, a small rural town in the western United States. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Willamette University, he spent the next few years working as an economic research analyst for the Washington State government. He later transitioned into the private sector, where he worked for a consulting firm in Seattle, Washington specialising in international marketing and trade. While in Seattle, Tim was elected President of the Seattle Economics Council, an organisation that provides a forum for local economists to discuss and debate economic issues. In 2015, Tim and his wife Kristi moved to London, where Tim is currently completing a master’s degree in Economic Policy at UCL. Tim also has a background in debate, qualifying for the national debate competition in the U.S. in 2005. Since then, Tim has coached and judged in several debate tournaments at the secondary school level.
