Generation Youth Issues
Simon manages teams of youth work staff for a Scottish local authority. He is on the Board of Play Scotland and has just successfully completed a PhD at the University of Strathclyde. His thesis in Community Education was focused on how past childhood experiences, freedoms and licences contributed to emerging selfhood in young people. Simon organises charity open water swims off the Scottish coast in aid of the RNLI. Next year he is planning to raise money for the rescue efforts in the Mediterranean by swimming to Italy from Sicily. In what little spare time remains, Simon chases his 9yr old son and 5 year old daughter about and still manages to play football averagely for a 50 yr old!
