PEOPLE

  • Rupert Cabbell-Manners

    Student & DM Alumnus

    University College London

Rupert is studying English Literature at University College, London. He took part in Debating Matters in 2008, before which he had only had experience of British Parliamentary Debating. However, he enjoyed the competition so much that he decided to join the alumni team after leaving school. As an English student, he thinks that elegant, emotional words aren’t bad in themselves; but in Debating Matters he says the speeches never amount to faberge eggs of attractive, hollow speech and feels that the atmosphere of concentration is as valuable to an alumnus as a competitor.
