Robert is a history teacher at the West London Free School, and author of the ‘Knowing History’ series of secondary school textbooks for Collins. He is a former ‘Teacher in Residence’ at the Department for Education, where he worked as a speech writer and policy advisor for the Schools Minister, Nick Gibb MP. Having trained as a history teacher in 2011 with Teach First, Robert went on to work for the think tank Civitas as an education research fellow. Whilst there, he wrote ‘Progressively Worse: The Burden of Bad Ideas in British Schools’, a book about the history of teaching methods from the 1960s to today. Robert has written on education for Standpoint magazine, Demos Quarterly, and the Daily Mail.
