    University of Oxford

    Richard competed in Debating Matters in Year 12 and 13, debating on motions as diverse as sex selection of foetuses, the use of coal fired power, censorship of the arts, and humanitarian intervention, reaching the Regional Finals on both occasions. Richard is now at Hertford College, Oxford, reading History. He is interested in politics, particularly issues surrounding freedom of speech, and modern history. He also plays for his college’s football team, and is a member of the university quiz society and the Oxford Union debating society.
