    professor of social work

    Leeds Beckett University

    Raised in Oldham, Nick is a qualified and registered social worker and practiced in local authority social work for 15 years before commencing his academic career. He has published widely in the fields of child welfare and professional learning:  Nick’s primary research interests are in children’s services, family support and work with vulnerable children and young people. He is currently the independent chair of North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Board where he is involved in coordinating safeguarding policy and practice.
