Jane Dalgarno is the head of the Men’s Production Costume Workshop at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. A theatrical tailor and costume cutter, she leads the team which creates men’s costume for the world renowned Royal Opera and Royal Ballet. Jane has also played a major role in developing the Costume Apprenticeship Scheme and regularly mentors students on placements. Before moving to Covent Garden, she was deputy head tailor at English National Opera, and costume maker at the King’s Theatre, Lyceum Theatre and Traverse Theatre, all in Edinburgh, and at the Citizen’s Theatre, Glasgow. Jane has also worked in fashion creating catwalk collections for designers such as Luella Bartley, Markus Lupfer, Paul Smith and Issa Couture.
