Donna is experienced in both sides of the dark art: journalism and PR. She has had insight into many major news stories from a variety of perspectives, including being the only Liverpool-born journalist working on the Sheffield Star at the time of the Hillsborough Disaster. She now manages the press office of the second-biggest council in the country, dabbling in civil service and university PR along the way. A typical day for her and the team could include explaining the impact of massive cuts to council budgets, replying to enquiries about devolution deals, preparing to host the general election count in Leeds and working on publicity around the city’s potential bid to be European City of Culture 2023.
