    North Lanarkshire Council

    David is an elected member in North Lanarkshire Council. He is currently the Convenor of Regeneration and Infrastructure and was also, until recently, the Vice Convenor of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport. David is a graduate of the Drawing & Painting Department at Glasgow School of Art and has a Post Graduate Qualification in Community Education. Following art school David became a full time musician and his band, Wild River Apples, secured a recording contract with Chrysalis Records. He was responsible for commissioning Alasdair Gray and Paul Buchanan for public artworks at Hillhead and Kelvingrove Subway Stations. David is also a painter and is a member of the Marcelle House collective of artists in Alloa, where he has his studio.
