York St John University
Charlotte has a background in youth and community work. Having worked with many statutory and voluntary sector agencies, she has always fought for all people to have a democratic voice. Her current doctoral research is exploring democratic parent engagement. As a chair of governors at the local primary school, she works regularly with the school council and never ceases to be impressed at the skills and intellect of young people of all ages. Charlotte now works as a lecturer at York St John and teaches practitioners working in a variety of educational roles including youth workers, family workers and teaching assistants. She regularly uses community philosophy and debating in class to explore a range of issues relating to social justice.
