PEOPLE

  • Anya Kench

    Student

    Swansea University

Anya has recently graduated in Bsc medical sciences and humanities. During her studies she read widely in medical sociology and took a specific interest in Body Mass Index from a critical realist perspective for her dissertation topic. Anya has worked closely with Dr Ashley Frawley, particularly during a summer internship as her research assistant exploring the humanistic and vulnerability paradigms in relation to higher education. Since attending the Living Freedom residential school, Anya has participated in the Battle of Ideas ‘Banning Smacking: Protecting Children or Assaulting Family Life’ debate. Following her graduation, she is currently training to be a paramedic and hopes to use this training to further enhance her critical thinking of medical sociology topics. Anya’s spare time includes knitting and reading.
