St. Brigid’s School

“Welcome to St. Brigid’s 3-19 Roman Catholic state boarding school for girls and boys. Parents and guardians tell us that they and their children choose St. Brigid’s because with 503 pupils in total, we are small enough to provide a secure and family oriented environment, but large enough to provide a rich and diverse curriculum. We have high expectations - which our pupils meet - in 2011 we had 95% achieve 5+ A*-C at GCSE. Our pupils generally go on to attend the top universities in the country. Academic success is important to us, but we also want to educate the ‘whole’ child and as a consequence the Christian ethos which permeates everything we do is central to the success of our school, and is articulated most succinctly in our Core Professional Purpose “To Inspire and Be Inspired”, through our principles of love, faith, truth excellence and respect. We are quite unique: as the only State boarding school in Wales and one of only 35 in the UK, we offer education from Nursery to Year 13 and are able to accommodate 28 female boarders. Provided they hold a UK, European or Commonwealth passport, boarders pay only for the boarding facility, not their education. Our standards are high, but I’m sure your aspirations for your child are high too and I am confident that St. Brigid’s, where I have chosen to educate my own son, will help each child and young person to realise their dreams and aspirations and ensure that they fulfill their potential.”
