As Debating Matters continues to expand, alumni help in organising, chairing and judging at events becomes invaluable. As an alumnus of the competition, you could help to ensure the smooth-running of the Qualifying Rounds by helping out on the day, either generally by helping to set-up and run the event, or as a chair or judge. By the time that we reach the Regional Finals and National Final stage of the competition, events become more complex and the team need assistance in all kinds of areas, whether its mentoring teams, dealing with press, co-ordinating film crew or logistical help.
